2011 American Heroes Airshow by Aviationbuff Photography
The American Heroes Air Show is a helicopter–only event designed to promote rotary-wing aviation’s role in law enforcement, public safety, communications, Search & Rescue as well as homeland security and national defense.
The event was held on 9/10/2011 at Heritage Park in Canton, Georgia USA. This is a great venue to get up close and personal with civilian and military helicopters and is excellent for photography with good lighting through much of the day. In fact, this is one of the few aviation events where a long telephoto lens will not be necessary as most of the photo opportunities are best addressed with a wide to medium telephoto lens. Be prepared to practice your slow shutter speed shots as helicopters like the Robinson R44 are best shot at 1/20 to 1/60 to create the desired rotor blur.
