Installation Problems

If you have black holes where some of the gauges should be, you have probably copied the necessary gauge files to the wrong folder. This is usually due to an additional directory which was added to preserve the integrity of your default gauges. First make sure you have unzipped your L188Electra file to the correct directory, This will usually be C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FS2002\Aircraft.

After unzipping, open the L188Electra folder and then open the "gauges" folder. Copy the entire contents of this folder to your MSFS2002Pro Gauges Folder. It can usually be found at: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FS2002\Gauges

***NOTE*** When you open the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FS2002\Aircraft\L188Electra\Gauges folder, you will see several CAB files along with another gauges folder. COPY ALL OF THE CAB FILES AND THE COMPLETE GAUGES FOLDER, INTACT TO THE FS 2002\gauges folder. Otherwise you will have a good number of black holes in your panel.

Where can I find re-paints of your Electra... ?

Of particular interest are the outstanding photo-realistic paint jobs created by Bill Schulz. Make sure to check them out!. Re-paints are permitted if used for freeware distribution only. Absolutely no sale or collection of fees for this aircraft is allowed without written authorization from Chris Buff. This includes online or pre-packaged CD-ROM or DVD freeware bundles.

Why doesn't my Force Feedback stick work properly... ?

Unfortunately, this Electra was not developed with force feedback in mind. As a result, we have heard from a few MS FF stick owners who say that the aircraft is un-flyable with FF effects enabled. One suggestion which seems to work is to download the FSUIPC utility from www.avsim.com or www.flightsim.com and check the box called: "Control Spike Elimination"
